Have you ever visited Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? No? So come with me!
First things first! Please watch the movie Avatar before your next trip to Orlando! Your experience at Pandora will be much more special if you know the story, characters and every thing else!
When you get closer to Pandora’s entrance you already know you are about to enter a totally different world! The floor, the plants, the sounds and everything else takes us to Pandora. But in a different period in time. The fights between humans and Na’avis are a thing of the past and now everybody lives in peace!
If you have seen the movie you will remember the floating mountains. They are amazing!
You’ll want to walk fast to see everything ahead, but take your time and explore the details.
There are two rides: Na’avi River Journey is a boat ride where you’ll go through a series of caves and into a bioluminescent rainforest alive with the sights and sounds of exotic plants and creatures. Here are some pictures.
The other one, and the most popular, is Flight of Passage. You’ll board your own banshee and embark on a thrilling expedition! It’s by far the best simulator we’ve ever been to!
Expect long lines if you don’t have a Fastpass (we used Fastpass), but people say the line is cool so you won’t feel like you have waited that long.
Details are out of this world! Just to have an idea, you can even feel your bashee breathing during the flight!
At the end of the attraction you will pass by Windtraders, a store with everything related to Pandora, even a banshee to take home!
If you get hungry you are on the right place because Satu’li Canteen is excellent! It was the best meal we have ever had in a theme park.
You should visit Pandora during the day and at night time, when the vegetation comes alive!
Tips to enjoy Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Try to get a Fastpass for one of the atractions (Flight of Passage should be your first option).
- If you can’t get a Fastpass, the rides (specially Flight of Passage) are worth to wait in line! You can also arrive very early, around 1 hour before the park opens. Ride Na’avi River Journey and then go straight to Flight of Passage. Another good option is to get in line a little before the park closes.
- Eat at Satu’li Canteen! And don’t forget to eat dessert – the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse is to die for!
